We here at Lost Rhino Brewing Co. challenge the craft beer enthusiast to experience adventure and awesomeness in each of our beers. The brewery was born out of the fierce desire to keep the tradition of craft brewing alive in Northern Virginia. We were longtime brewers from Old Dominion and bought back the brewhouse and moved it to its new location in Ashburn, VA. It is here that we're brewing some of the most outstanding pilsners and ales in the Washington, DC area.

New River Pale Ale Lost Rhino has acquired the rights to New River and brews it to the same exacting recipe. Three hop additions in the boil and then gloriously dry hopped, New River is an extremely aromatic American-style pale ale. The use of American Crystal and Munich malts create sweetness in the finish that balances the hop bitterness. The blend of the Pacific Northwest hops Amarillo, Cascade, Columbus, and Centennial generates aroma and flavors of lemon citrus, pine, and touches of sweet tropical fruit.

Face Plant IPA The flavor of whole cone Cascade and Centennial Hops dominates this American-style IPA. Multiple hops additions in the boil kettle and a massive one in the Hop back builds an array of hop flavors and aromas. This unfiltered amber ale has a penetrating herbal mouthfeel and pleasing floral nose backed by Pale, Vienna, and Crystal malts. The use of a Hop Back allows us to collect all the flavor and aroma of the hops without gathering any extra bitterness.

Rhino Chasers Pacific Pils With a rich, dense, creamy head this crisp golden lager is clean and refreshing. Premium Canadian Pilsner and Munich malts create a sweet backbone, but hops are what really make this brew stand out. Spicy hop flavor and fresh aroma are from the U.S. grown Halertau and Saaz. Uncluttered and sharp, our pilsner relies on the basics of lager brewing. Good water, excellent ingredients, solid brewing practices, and lots of patience.

Beer Tip: How to pour a wheat beer is also important to serving. First, clean your glasses (which is not only for wheat beer, but all kinds of beer glasses need to be washed with clean water and dried up right away. It will improve beer's flavor and taste.Second, hold the glass slantly, and pour the wheat beer slowly. Third, with about 10% or 15% of beer left in the bottle, swirl it smoothly to mix the yeast and beer together. Finally, pour the remaining beer in your glass. This process will help to improve the flavor, scent and appearance of your wheat beer.
